非英语专业大学生跨文化交际意愿调查

论文摘要

本文是关于一组中国非英语专业大学生跨文化交际意愿的实证研究,旨在调查被测中国大学生在中国跨文化交际情景中,交际意愿的情况,特点及影响因素。本研究主要讨论、解决下面四个问题:1.在跨文化语境中,受测中国非英语专业大学生在多大程度上愿意或不愿意选择交际;2.跨文化交际意愿度与其他交际特征变量,跨文化交际焦虑、国际态度和自我感知英语能力的关系如何;3.上述3个变量在多大程度上预测跨文化交际意愿;4.参与跨文化交际活动时,影响受测中国非英语专业大学生交际意愿度的主要因素有哪些。本调查以广东省某高校183名非英语专业大学生为研究对象,采用混合研究方法。首先,定量研究采用问卷调查来收集数据,使用SPSS13.0统计软件来进行描述性统计分析、皮尔逊相关分析和多元回归分析。定性研究采用半结构访谈法和开放式问卷来进行数据收集,数据分析是通过对内容编码和主题生成,分类得出研究结果。研究的主要结果有:(1)在跨文化语境中,受测中国大学生的交际意愿中等偏低;(2)跨文化交际意愿度与其他三个交际特征变量呈显著相关关系。其中,跨文化交际焦虑和跨文化交际愿意度呈显著负相关关系,而和国际态度以及自我感知英语能力显著正相关;(3)上述三个变量可以有效预测跨文化交际意愿,也就是说这三个影响因素的变化,可以有效预测交际者的意愿程度变化。(4)定性研究结果表明,交际情景因素、认知因素、交际对方因素、交际动机和人际关系因素在不同程度上影响个人的交际意愿。本研究在理论上,研究方法上以及教学实践上对跨文化交际研究以及教学有重要的研究意义。在理论上,本研究从跨文化交际者交际特征的角度来研究,这一角度开始受到越来越多西方学者的关注,但是国内学者关注还不够多,而且本研究结果还有助于理解在中国二语教学课堂环境下,大学生的交际特征。研究方法上,本研究使用定量定性结合的混合研究方法,在国内国外跨文化交际研究尚不多,这一方法可以有效增加研究结果的效度和信度。在实践上,本研究提出了相应的教学建议。研究结果对外语老师了解学生的跨文化交际意愿以主要影响因素,采取有效教学措施,提高学生跨文化交际意愿和交际能力有重要参考作用。
