同传过程中的信息冗余与预测

本文试图解释在同声传译过程中,原语中的信息冗余现象对译员进行预测可能产生的作用。文章建立在Chernov的可能性预测模型,Gile的认知负荷模型,关联理论和冗余理论的基础上。借助这些理论,本文阐释了在同传过程中预测为什么是必须和可能的,并说明了冗余信息对于同传译员的预测会产生怎样的影响。在理论框架之上,作者假定原语的信息冗余可以帮助同传译员进行预测,缓解译员在高度紧张的同传过程中的压力和处理负荷。通过对同一篇英文讲话节选的五位职业译员的汉语同声传译进行分析和对比,作者意欲表明冗余信息在同传过程中对预测能发挥的作用。结果表明,信息冗余对同传译员的预测有积极作用,并有助于缓解译员的紧张压力,冗余信息有利于译员的同传,表现更趋成功。此外,对10位职业译员的采访也证实了这一点。同时,作者希望通过这篇论文,传递一个信息:讲话中的冗余现象是不可避免的,而冗余不一定表示没有逻辑,言语不清。对于同传译员而言,是可以利用的宝贵资源,便于信息理解和意义澄清。
