目的论指导下的中医术语英译策略研究

论文摘要

中医作为中国灿烂的传统文化的重要组成部分,对中华民族的健康与繁荣做出了巨大贡献。由于其神奇的治疗和养生功效,近几十年来中医引起全世界越来越多人的关注。越来越多的外国人来中国学习中医,一度兴起“中医学习热”。在这种情况下,英语作为世界使用最广泛的语言,大量中医书籍需要翻译成英语。众所周知,中医术语是外国中医学习者掌握中医理论的基础,因此,迫切需要将中医术语翻译成英语。然而,中医术语英译却处于混乱状态：在没有个翻译理论和统一的翻译标准作指导的前提下,不同的译者将同一个中医术语翻译成不同的形式。这种混乱使外国中医学者很能准确理解中医理论并且感到困惑。本文将在目的论的指导下解决这一问题。作者试图在目的论翻译标准及目的原则、连贯原则、忠实原则三个原则的指导下确立中医术语的英译标准,并找到中医术语的英译策略。
