从认知语言学视角论诗性隐喻翻译的两个世界忠实再现

论文摘要

隐喻是一种普遍存在的语言现象。传统的隐喻学把隐喻看成是一种修辞方法,一种意义转移的表达方式,而忽视了隐喻意义转移的运作方式。随着西方哲学的语言学转向,人们对隐喻的认知不断加深。Lakoff和Johnson的《我们赖以生存的隐喻》一书标志着认知观隐喻研究的全面开始。该书指出隐喻是人类的重要认知方式,人类普遍的思维方式。因此,在隐喻翻译过程中,需要把源语所表达的认知方式传递到译语中。自出现翻译这门科学以来,翻译理论可谓是百花齐放,百家争鸣,但大部分只偏重于作者、文本或读者,并产生了相对应的翻译观。这些理论过于偏重某一环节,似有以偏概全之不足。王寅根据认知语言学体验哲学的基本观点,构建了认知语言学的翻译观:认知语言学的基本观点可总结成,“现实-认知-语言”,即人们基于对客观外界的互动式体验,经过认知加工形成语言,语言是现实与认知的产物,语言背后蕴藏着客观世界规律和人类的认知规律。所以翻译是认知主体以现实世界体验为背景而形成的认知为基础,读者兼译者在透彻理解源语言语篇所表达出的各类意义,尽量将其在目标语中映射转述出来,在译文中勾画出原作者所欲描写的客观世界及其认知世界。诗歌是一种焕发欢愉的特殊的书面语,是一种令人享受、欢乐和满足的形式。诗人往往通过诗歌中的隐喻性语言对客观世界进行描述,进而反映其认知世界。本文通过对认知语言学的隐喻观、翻译观的探索,得以启示,从新的视角研究诗歌中隐喻的翻译:诗歌的翻译应该准确地译出诗歌中的隐喻进而反映作者所描述的客观世界及其认知世界。希望本文可以促进隐喻翻译的研究,并有助于译者翻译实践水平的提高。
