英语短语动词由动词和小品词组成,这类结构被广泛地应用于英语的口语和书面语中,在英语语言的使用中非常典型。而对于大多数英语学习者来说,虽然他们很早接触并熟悉这类英语结构,但是在实际的使用中却一直存在着困难。关于英语短语动词,前人已做过不少研究,但这些传统的研究大多缺乏真实的语言数据,而且在有关英语学习者的使用情况方面研究较少。本文探讨中国英语学习者在英语短语动词上的使用情况,希望通过对学习者语料库的真实语言的观察和数据分析,较为真实地描述学生短语动词使用的现状。具体来说,本文基于中国英语学习者的实际运用,参照英语本族语者语料库和汉语本族语者语料库,以副词性的小品词up和down构成的短语动词为例,探究了中国学习者在使用短语动词上的中间语特征及相关问题,并讨论了使用偏差上的相关原因。研究发现,中国学习者不仅在短语动词的类联接上存在着少用、不用和错误结构,而且在其搭配上也存在着搭配匮乏、搭配混淆、搭配失常、搭配错误等问题。最后,在分析数据的基础上,本文对英语短语动词的教与学提出一些参考性建议。
