论笔记的信息筛选对英汉交传的影响

本文旨在探讨笔记的信息筛选对英汉交传的影响。作者首先回顾了前人对于交替传译过程的研究,交传中笔记的研究以及与本文相关的研究。在此基础上,作者提出了本文的理论框架和具体的研究问题。文章以Daniel Gile的精力分配模式为理论框架,分析了在交传中译员需要利用笔记对信息进行有效的筛选,以节省精力更好的为口译产出而服务的必要性。为了回答文中提出的研究问题,作者设计了一项实验。实验的对象是广外高级翻译学院首届MTI(翻译硕士专业)的10位学生。实验内容为一篇英文讲座的发言稿。本实验分为两个阶段,第一阶段的测试在学习交传笔记之前,学生按要求对内容的前段部分进行口译。第二阶段在学生熟练掌握了笔记的技巧之后,按要求对同一发言稿的后半部分进行口译。作者将两次测试的口译进行录音并保存了学生的笔记。在两次测试之间的4个星期内,学生接受了老师关于交传笔记技巧的专业培训。在此期间学生不仅学习笔记的做法,还将做大量的练习对已学技巧进行强化。由于时间限制,学生在四周内没有完成足够的练习。通过对实验结果的认真分析,作者发现:成功的交替传译笔记具有信息筛选的作用,它像“筛子”一样过滤掉非重要的信息,而选择最重要信息并用各种符号的方式记录下来。交传笔记的信息筛选与交传表现有着密切的联系,笔记对信息筛选作用发挥得越有效,越有利于促进交替传译的表现。但由于笔记的训练是一个长期的过程,如同实验的结果所显示,我们不能期待受试者在短短的4星期内在口译水平以及笔记水平有显著的提高。
