论儿童文学特点的传译 ——以《汤姆·索亚历险记》为例

论文摘要

儿童文学,包括国外经典儿童文学,对儿童的成长起着重要的作用。儿童文学的翻译作品为不同文化环境下的孩子搭建了交流的平台。随着时代的进步,大量的优秀外国儿童文学被引进中国,许多经典作品不断被重新翻译。儿童文学翻译市场欣欣向荣,国外儿童文学的译本不断涌现,但儿童文学翻译的理论研究则少人问津,对译本的批评和评价更是少得可怜。儿童文学翻译在实践与理论研究之间存在着严重的矛盾——同一本世界名著,往往都有五六个甚至十几个翻译版本,这么多译本难免在质量上会参差不齐。但由于缺乏统一的评价标准和完善的评价机制,不用说儿童自己,就是家长和老师都难以从五花八门的各种译本中选出适合孩子们的优秀译本。儿童文学是儿童的文学。本文作者首先从接受理论和奈达的读者接受观点出发,认为儿童文学的翻译必须以读者为中心,以儿童的接受作为衡量好的译本的标准。译者要翻好儿童文学,必须时刻牢记译作的接受者是儿童,必须掌握儿童独有的认知能力、知识经验、心理特征和审美情趣等各方面的因素,从儿童的接受性和趣味性两方面对儿童文学翻译的儿童性展开分析。同时,儿童文学也是儿童的文学,即文学作品。是文学就意味着它还需要包括文学的一切共性,可以使用一切文学手段,使译本最大限度地发挥教育、认知、启发、熏陶等文学功能。作者借用许渊冲教授提出的“音美、形美、意美”,分别从这三个方面对儿童文学翻译的文学性展开分析。本文尝试从儿童文学的儿童性和文学性两个方面,对《汤姆·索亚历险记》的三个译本进行分析,紧紧抓住儿童文学及其翻译的特点和要求,结合儿童的心理、审美特性,探讨了各个译者采取的不同翻译策略,从接受者的接受与否以及文学作品能否实现美的感染对译文的优劣得失进行了判断,并从中提炼出儿童文学翻译可采取的一些策略和技巧,为不同译本的评价提出一种新的思路。译者认为,只有用儿童的观点去解析原文,用儿童的情趣去建构译文,才能译出孩子接受而又保持原作风格的好译本。
