大学英语教学发展研究 ——以大学英语教学大纲修订及相关个案研究为视域

论文摘要

本文旨在探讨中国大学英语教学大纲的演变及其对大学英语教学发展的影响。文章首先讨论了课程大纲和课程规划的定义,并简要回顾了课程大纲理论在外语教学大纲设计中的应用。以外语教学大纲的相关理论为基础,本文接着着重论述了大学英语教学大纲的发展过程,即从由教育部统一修订的《大学英语教学大纲(草案)》(1980),经《大学英语教学大纲(高等学校文理本科用)》(1985&1896)和《大学英语教学大纲(修订本)》(1999)到《大学英语课程教学要求(试行)》(2004)。为了进一步探讨大学英语教学的现状,本研究还考察了苏州大学大学英语教师对大学英语教学及教学大纲的态度。问卷研究结果证明,大学英语教学大纲的修订是成功的,对大学英语教师产生了积极的影响,他们吸取了大纲的精髓,并以多种形式从事着教学实践。通过对20多年来大学英语教学大纲的阐释和分析,结合苏州大学大学英语教学实际,作者归纳了大学英语教学呈现的发展特点:(1)大学英语教学目标由教授学生语言分析技能转变为培养学生语言应用能力;(2)现代外语教学理论在教学和研究中被广泛应用;(3)教与学等自主性意识逐渐增强; (4)社会文化意识日益引起重视。大学英语教学正经历着巨大的变革。日新月异的社会环境,经济发展正推动着大学英语教学朝更加灵活的市场化方向发展。教学大纲旨在为教师正确作出专业性判断,成功组织教学提供框架;为学习者高效率地学习提供支持。由于科学的大学英语大纲是大学英语教学和改革成功与否的关键,作者最后揭示了大学英语教学大纲修订“兼容并蓄,择优而用”(Eclecticism)的发展方向,即从多渠道选择教学材料及教学手段;应赋予教师和学校更多的自主性,以便充分发挥大学英语教学实施主体的主动性和创造性。
