罗伯特·勃朗宁诗歌的汉译 ——有关诗歌翻译理论与实践的一个例案研究

论文摘要

主题及论题陈述:勃朗宁的戏剧性独白诗客观地描述了生活和人物,此外诗人的兴趣更注重人物的内心心理活动。他的诗歌可以大致分为两类:第一类是较短的抒情诗,比如Meeting at Night,Parting at Morning等;第二类就是以戏剧性独白形式写的诗歌,比如Andrea del Sarto,Rabbi ben Ezra等。在解读其戏剧性独白诗时,读者总是被置于这样一种境地,就是诗歌中独白者与沉默的听者的性格与心理活动是通过其内心的戏剧性活动而不是通过行为来得以分析并展现出来的。目前只有比较有限数量的诗歌被翻译成中文;因此非常有必要就其诗歌的中文翻译以及其诗歌和译文进行进一步的研究。选题依据及研究方法:勃朗宁的诗很难解读,为此有人批评其诗不符合语法规则地省略关联词,随意添加词组并将意思拼在一起。目前,勃朗宁的诗只有很少部分给翻译成了中文,在国内的文献里也主要是对其诗歌的特点与里面的价值观,人生观进行评价,也有对独白者与听者的性格进行研究的文献。而对其诗歌翻译的研究却几乎没有。因此,非常有必要对其诗歌的解读与翻译建构一个翻译模式,提出一个翻译策略。在这篇论文中,一个尝试性的翻译框架被提出来;在此之后,通过比较已有的译文版本与作者的版本来检测该框架的有效性。需要指出的是,该框架是建立在描述基础上的抽象,并不能将其视为与翻译界已建立的规则和原则一样的准确性和有效性;因此只能作为一个大体的指导,且对其应用会受到语境与情境的影响,具有灵活性。步骤及主要内容:第一章为引言部分,主要确立研究的主题,指明选题依据,研究方法和途径。第二章阐述勃朗宁诗歌的特点与其中体现的哲学观,价值观。第三章主要列举出相关的文学翻译与诗歌理论,最后还就如何将这些概括性的翻译标准运用到勃朗宁的诗歌翻译中进行了些许讨论。第四章对Meetingat Night和Parting at Morning的几个版本各自从行数的对应,每行字数的对应,每行的音步,韵律以及意义忠实等几个方面来进行了比较。第五章,针对勃朗宁诗歌的特点与前一章的译文版本的比较,提出了一个翻译框架,概括性的提出了一个翻译模式。第六章主要是通过对Andrea del Sarto的本人译文与孙大雨先生,飞白先生的两个译文版本进行比较来检测该模式的有效性与正确性。第七章为结论,首先是评估了针对该模式有效性检测的结果。其后指出本研究的局限性和进一步研究的方向。
