翻译过程中的译者及其主体性研究

论文摘要

翻译过程中译者的角色已经引起了广泛的注意。尽管中国传统翻译理论一直试图把译者束缚于忠实的教条中,近来译者主体性的研究已基本确立了译者的主体地位。译者已从传统的奴役地位走出,享受到了一定的自由。主体性的观点揭示了译者创造性的一面。然而,翻译实践中译者遭遇的种种限制使得主体性的主张软弱无力。更糟地是,一些僵化的观念严重阻碍了对译者角色的合理理解。本文将试图在整个翻译过程中阐释译者的角色地位。翻译及翻译过程等概念被重新诠释。对译者主体性的研究显示,译者的隐身是不可能的,而且为了实现特定的翻译目的,译者必须充分发挥主观能动性,对原文进行操纵和改写。与此同时,译者的自由受到各种社会文化因素译者心理因素等影响。译者的自由总是在一定限度内的。运用玛利·斯耐尔·霍恩比（Mary Snell-Hornby）的综合法,特别是其中的原型理论和格式塔原则,本文放弃了绝对主义和客观主义的传统,对二元式的分类法提出了质疑。因而,简单地判定译者是主体或客体都是不合适的。本文试图论证译者是翻译过程中一个受限制的主体,译者的自由总是变化的而非静止的。因此,在翻译实践中,译者应充分体味其自由的界限,在合理的范围内充分发挥其创造性。
