中美语言中政治隐喻的对比分析 ——基于中美首脑近十年公共演说

论文摘要

隐喻一直是专家学者们关注的一个话题,其研究历史达两千多年。从亚里士多德开始,人们对隐喻进行了多方面的研究。这些研究包括隐喻的分类、特点、经验基础及基本功能。一些语言学家如Ricoeur(1975)、Gibbs(1994)和Lakoff(2005)已经指出隐喻具有语篇功能；Lakoff(2005)把隐喻引入到政治语篇中来；Black(2004)曾采用批评性隐喻分析(Critical Discourse Analysis)的方法对政治语篇中的隐喻进行了分析,但是他们都没有系统的阐述隐喻在政治语篇中的作用。我国的隐喻研究起步比较晚,1992年由摘译Lakoff & Johnson的Metaphors We LiveBy起步,但是都只是停留在相近的修辞格的对比,或者只是单纯意义上的介绍国外的研究成果,很少有深入的讨论和研究。关于政治隐喻的对比研究就更少了。在前人的研究成果上,本文将以批评性隐喻分析(Critical Discourse Analysis)为理论基础并基于相关语料进行政治概念隐喻的对比分析。本研究的语料为2001年到2010年中美两国高层领导人的政治演讲。研究采用Steen的“五步法”确认语料中的隐喻,然后根据Lakoff的概念隐喻理论从隐喻中获得概念隐喻,从而进行对比分析。通过对比分析：中国语料中的主要概念隐喻有建筑隐喻,旅程隐喻,流水隐喻,人类隐喻,家庭隐喻；美国语料中的主要概念隐喻有人类隐喻,建筑隐喻,旅程隐喻,自然隐喻,戏剧隐喻。其中流水隐喻和家庭隐喻是中国特有的,自然隐喻和戏剧隐喻是美国特有的。两国有共同的隐喻但是具体内容不同,这其中的原因涉及文化和宗教等的历史原因。其研究结果更有助于中美政治和文化的深层次研究；对于政治语篇的翻译有着重要的参考价值；有助于英语教学中学生对语言的全面掌握和了解；在语言研究方面,本题是对隐喻研究的新尝试,还可以从社会语言学和中美文学作品的语言运用等多角度进行相关深入的探讨。
