束定芳老师说过,词汇方面的错误比语法错误更容易影响交际。国外学者从二十世纪七十年代就开始了关于连接副词的研究。Biber曾多次借助语料库研究英语中连接副词的使用情况。此外,Altenberg通过对比瑞典英语学习者语料库和英语本族语者语料库发现瑞典英语学习者极易误用和滥用连接副词。但是母语并不是影响连接副词在句中位置的根本原因。在国内,何安平教授做过相似的研究。何安平教授通过对比多个语料库得出结论,英语学习者在写作中误用和滥用连接副词so,同时,结论也显示出母语负迁移并不是主要原因。基于上述学者的研究,本研究不仅调查所收集语料中连接副词的使用情况,更着重分析学生在使用连接副词时易犯的错误以及产生错误的原因,并就母语负迁移是否影响学生在英语写作中连接副词的使用情况做了进一步分析。本研究收集了延安大学272名非英语专业一年级同学的作文和调查问卷。统计和分析材料发现,连接副词被广泛应用于学生写作过程中。通过对比学生作文中连接副词的使用和COCA中连接副词的使用情况,可以看出,学生写作中连接副词的使用程度远远高于本族语者。而且,学生在连接副词使用方面的错误也较多,达到40%。数据还表明,近四分之三的学生认为已习得连接副词,表现过于自信。对现代汉语语料库检索后发现,汉语在很大程度上影响学生在英语写作中连接副词的使用。也就是说,在本研究中,母语负迁移是误用及滥用连接副词的主要原因之一。通过对问卷及错误的分析发现,除母语负迁移之外,过度泛化和学生的学习态度也是连接副词误用的原因。为帮助学生尽量避免此类错误,教师应重视并及时纠正学生使用连接副词时的错误,同时,将语料库应用到教学中。学生应该意识到连接副词的重要性,广泛阅读英语本族语者的文章,注意语言文化差异,努力克服母语的负迁移。有关教育部门应为教师提供更多的培训交流机会,以提高教师专业知识水平和电脑技术水平,最终提高教师的教学水平和教学质量。
