论语篇语法隐喻与语篇分析

论文摘要

语法隐喻理论是系统功能语言学的重要的理论支柱之一。创始人韩礼德将其分为概念语法隐喻和人际语法隐喻。这种对语法隐喻二分法的观点得到了多数学者的认同。后来,语言学家马丁在韩礼德二分法的基础上,结合语言的三大纯理功能,提出了语篇语法隐喻这一术语,并对其作了相对系统的研究。如同许多理论在提出后有反对者和支持者一样,语篇语法隐喻不可避免地受到质疑,甚至韩礼德本人也没有“对这个亮点眨眼”。而事实上,他在讨论其他问题时涉及过语篇语法隐喻的内容,只是冠之以其他名目而已。而支持者们从不同的方面对该理论进行论述,目的是对其进行补充和完善。众所周知,理论的提出是为了服务于实践。所以本文在承认语篇语法隐喻存在的客观性的前提下,首先从语篇语法隐喻的所关注的问题、一致式、哲学基础以及与概念,人际语法隐喻的相似性等几个方面阐述了本文作者对该理论的理解。在创新的主体部分,本文将该理论与语篇分析结合。本文以马丁对语篇语法隐喻的分类作为理论基础,分析不同体裁的书面语篇,尝试探讨语篇隐喻的实用价值。通过对大量语篇的研究得出的结论是：语篇语法隐喻具有区分不同体裁的功能。在结论部分,本文对语篇语法隐喻在英语写作中的应用也简单做了讨论,指出该理论对英语写作也有一定的积极作用。本文是对语篇语法隐喻的应用做出的一个尝试性研究,它并不能解决所有的问题。例如除了文体特征决定了语篇语法隐喻在不同文体的分布外,还有其它一些因素,例如语境等,仍然有待更深入的研究。
