本研究旨在调查学习策略训练对初中生词汇习得的效果影响,并为词汇教学寻找一些启示。研究的问题为:1)学习策略训练能否促进学生词汇习得?2)谁从本学习策略训练中获益更多?中等水平的学习者还是不成功的学习者?本研究的四个受试来自于广州市某中学初二级的四名学生,他们分别为两男两女,代表中等水平的学习者和不成功的学习者。训练之前,作者先对四名受试进行单独访谈,了解他们的词汇学习习惯,对词汇学习的理解和词汇学习中策略使用的情况。根据访谈结果,选定了15种训练的策略,包括元认知策略,记忆策略和认知策略,并制定了训练的计划。本训练分为六步:第一步,元认知策略的训练;第二步,词汇学习--学习词汇的什么方面的训练;第三步,记忆策略和认知策略的训练(包括四次)。训练历时6周,在这期间,实施了4次词汇学习的自我评价,7次词汇测试,一次期末考试和一次训练后的问卷调查。所有搜集到的数据主要从质的方面进行分析。研究结果表明,词汇学习策略训练有助于促进学生的词汇习得。首先,四名受试在词汇学习中学会使用策略。第二,四名受试的词汇习得都得到提高,其中,两名中等水平的学习者的词汇掌握率由70%提升到80%以上,两名不成功的学习者的词汇掌握率由50%和低于40%提升到70%左右。从这些数据可以看出,词汇学习策略的训练对于受试的词汇习得很有帮助。第三,虽然两种程度的学习者都受益于本训练,但是不成功的学习者获益更多,相比中等程度的学习者15%的提升率,他们的词汇掌握率提升了20%以上。这些发现表明,词汇学习策略训练对于初中生的词汇学习有促进作用。词汇学习策略对于初中生,特别是不成功的词汇学习者有很大的益处。
