《傲慢与偏见》英汉文本的情态隐喻对比分析

在西方,隐喻的研究可以追溯到两千多年以前的古希腊时期。此后,各个领域的学者从不同的方面入手,对隐喻这一现象做了大量卓有成效的研究。近年来,隐喻研究更是成为一个跨学科的话题。从20世纪60年代开始,语言学家和哲学家对隐喻现象进行了广泛的研究,其中功能语言学和认知语言学在隐喻研究方面取得了较丰硕的成果。韩礼德提出的语法隐喻理论,它作为系统功能语法理论的一个重要组成部分,不仅为阐述隐喻本质提供了新的视角,而且进一步展示了隐喻的认知价值,揭示了语法隐喻所具有的重塑人类经验的功能。为人类经验重构提供了新的视角。韩礼德在1985和1994的《功能语法入门》一书中对语法隐喻有专门叙述,主要提出了概念隐喻和人际隐喻两个概念。他进一步指出人际隐喻包括语气隐喻和情态隐喻。本文试图将韩礼德提出的情态隐喻理论应用于汉语的研究中,采用英汉对比的方法对英语和汉语中情态隐喻进行对比。作者从功能语言学的情态隐喻出发,采用定性和定量相结合的研究方法,对英国著名作家简·奥斯丁的经典著作《傲慢与偏见》及其王科一先生的汉译本进行对比分析。通过对语料的分析发现:1)英汉文本在情态隐喻的向度,价值,归一度,类型几个方面的有很多相似性,但也存在不少的差异;2)该论文探讨了造成这些差异的原因:迎合目标读者,归化策略以及译者的主观性。该研究有助于将韩礼德的情态隐喻理论用于《傲慢与偏见》文本的解读,是对实用理论的进一步丰富。同时本论文有利于语言学习者学习目的语文化,以及英语的教授和学习。
