萧乾自译文学作品研究

论文摘要

萧乾在中国文坛上以多面手而著称,他集作家,记者,翻译家于一身。相对于萧乾研究的其他方面,学术界对其翻译方面的研究关注不多,对其自译活动及自译作品更是鲜有关注。本文通过对萧乾自译作品进行研究,分析其自译动机及翻译策略。萧乾的文学观是表现生活,其自译活动是在他的文学观指导下进行的,其文艺思想与翻译观是紧密相连的。作为向西方社会介绍中国现代文学的先驱,萧乾在上个世纪四十年代旅英期间翻译自己曾经发表过的短篇小说。作为人生采访者,他在上世纪五十年代又将大型报告文学《土地回老家》进行自译。在自译过程中,萧乾在词语、句子和段落层面采用了不同的翻译策略,随意,洒脱,变化,对原文进行了一定的增删,但是总的来说,在翻译过程中,他所担当的仍是译者的角色。自译是萧乾文学创作的延续,为其文学创作开辟了一条崭新的道路。
