大学英语写作教学的对比修辞学研究

我国大学英语写作教学的研究表明,目前写作教学中普遍存在的问题是,教师在写作教学中将较多的时间和精力花在要求学生写出正确的英语句子上,因而过多注重句子层面上的语法规则和英语惯用法,却较少从语篇的层面与跨文化写作的角度给予指导。结果,即使学生掌握了英语的句法结构,仍然很难写出清晰、连贯的英语作文。因此,如何解决大学英语写作教学中存在的问题,是广大英语教师所面临的艰巨而又紧迫的任务。因此,近年来,不少学者与教师从元认知、建构主义以及言语行为理论等视角,对大学英语写作教学进行了许多研究,但从对比修辞学视角研究大学英语写作教学的却不多。本文认为,对比修辞学能为我们提供尝试解决问题的途径。对比修辞学研究跨语言、跨文化的英语作为第二语言和英语作为外语写作的差异与相似之处。从一开始,对比修辞学就以文化介入为基本研究手段,认为语言与写作是文化现象,语篇组织与文体风格的差异都是由文化引起的,母语文化的修辞规约则可能对于学习者的二语或外语写作产生干扰作用。其实际目的就是鼓励英语作为二语或外语的写作者采用英语族人的修辞规约与偏好来改变自己的写作行为。本文采用定性与定量研究相结合并以定性研究为主的方法,在对比修辞学的理论框架内,从段落写作修辞模式与写作修辞风格两个方面,探讨英汉写作修辞偏好中的文化差异,并从跨文化写作的视角对大学英语写作教学进行多维审视与思考,提出大学英语写作教学需要关注的四个方面,即跨文化交际能力与大学英语写作教学,语篇互动与大学英语写作教学,读者意识与大学英语写作教学,以及语篇交际构成原则与大学英语写作教学,试图构建跨文化写作的大学英语写作教学新理念,为大学英语写作教学提供新的视角。本文认为,大学英语写作实质上是一种跨文化交际行为。在教学中,教师需要引导学生注重文化差异的认识与超越,需要超越句子层面来把握写作教学,需要把写作作为学生体验发现与创造的过程,以培养提高学生的语篇交际与跨文化写作能力,从而提高英语教学质量。
