语言课堂教师话语的性别差异研究

在语言课堂中,教师话语具有其它课堂所没有的特征:教师话语不仅是教师执行教学计划的工具,同时也是学生语言输入的一个重要来源。同时,男性和女性在语言使用方面存在差异,有着不同的话语风格。研究不同性别的教师话语特征对于提高教师话语质量,消除因性别差异而带来的负面影响以及提高英语教学质量都具有至关重要的作用。本文在理论研究的基础上,对教师话语的性别差异进行了实证性调查研究。作者在中南民族大学挑选了6名教师,其中3名男性, 3名女性,对6位老师的课堂进行了录音,并转写了录音材料。研究发现,不同性别的语言教师在课堂话语的使用上确实存在着差异: (1)虽然在一节课上,男女教师在教师说话时间上没有什么大的不同,两者都是教师说话时间绝对性控制整个课堂。但相对来说,学生在女教师的课堂上有更多的机会进行语言输出。(2)在课堂提问方面,男女教师都倾向于提展示性问题而不是参照性问题,但在问题的回答方式上,存在着极大的不同:女教师倾向于指定学生回答问题,而男教师则倾向于让全班同学一起回答问题。(3)在教师反馈这一方面男女教师也有各自使用上的偏好.女教师的反馈更多地考虑到学生的感受,更加具有礼貌性。而男教师在课堂反馈方面基本没有这方面的考虑。(4)男女教师在课堂指令的使用上也有所不同。女教师的课堂指令更加礼貌,具体,而男教师的课堂指令则具有垄断性和抽象性。根据男女教师在教师话语使用上的差异,作者提出了一些改进英语教学的建议.
