不同写作水平的学习者在英语写作中词块使用情况的研究

词块指的是由两个或两个以上的词组成的不可分割的一个整体,通常具有语义层面或是句子层面上的意义。词块的结构既可以是连贯的也可以是不连贯的,既可以是多变的也可以是固定的。词块在语言学习中具有非常重要的作用。在研究不同语言水平的学习者使用的词块存在哪些差异的研究中,大多数研究只探讨了其在使用频率和类型上的差异,很少研究词块生成模式的差异。本研究在前人研究的基础上,通过分析写作任务收集来的数据研究不同写作水平的学生在使用频率和类型上的差异,并且增加了受激回访法和访谈法来进一步探讨词块生成模式的差异。研究对象为60名非英语专业的大二学生。根据他们的四级英语写作部分成绩将他们分成高分组和低分组,独立样本t检验证明两组之间的写作水平具有显著性差异。此外,5名高分组和5名低分组的学生参加了受激回访和访谈。本研究的主要发现如下:(1)在四种不同的词块类型(即固定短语词块、习俗语词块、句子构建词块和动词词块)中,高分组和低分组使用频率最高的均是固定短语词块,其次是动词短语词块、句子构建词块和习俗语词块。(2)高分组和低分组在词块总的使用频率上具有显著性差异,但是在词块使用的错误率方面没有显著性差异;另外,固定短语词块的使用频率和错误率均具有显著性差异。(3)高分组和低分组都采用了基于记忆的词块生成模式和基于分析的词块生成模式,但是低分组比高分组更倾向于采用基于分析的词块生成模式。研究结果使教师能更全面地了解学生的词块学习及在写作过程中词块使用的情况,从而更好地帮助学生提高外语写作能力。本研究对教师和学生也具有一定的启示作用。教师(尤其是写作教师)应注意提高学生词块学习和使用意识,并注意在具体的语境中教授词块。学生也应在学习语法规则的同时注意在具体语境中学习词块,通过增强词块能力来逐渐提高写作水平。
