非英语专业大学生英语阅读策略使用情况调查

自70年代末开始,阅读策略的研究在全世界开始成为研究热点。阅读策略被学者和专家定义为学习者怎么样感知一个任务、怎么样处理背景线索和知识、怎么样理解他们读的材料和当他们不理解时如何做的心理过程。事实上,阅读策略是指应用于特定阅读任务所作用的策略,包括一系列的认知心理活动。研究表明阅读策略在英语学习中起着非常重要的作用。这些策略行为不仅能加强阅读理解、克服阅读困难、并且从长期来看能提高阅读能力。本研究的目的是调查非英语专业学生的阅读策略使用的现状,试图概括非英语专业学生阅读策略使用的总体特点。150名非英语专业大二学生(男71,女79)参与了此次研究。从这150名学生中挑选了10名学生进行半结构化面试。本研究采用问卷调查和面谈两种研究方法,具体探讨四个问题:(1)非英语专业大学生阅读策略使用的一般倾向;(2)高水平学生和低水平学生在阅读策略上的差异;(3)性别对阅读策略使用的影响;(4)学生的阅读策略的选择与阅读水平的相关程度。所得数据运用SPSS13.0(社会科学统计软件)进行统计分析。调查结果表明非英语专业学生广泛使用阅读策略,但其使用阅读策略的频率为中等。在所有阅读策略分类中,认知策略是阅读策略中使用得最频繁的。结果显示高水平学生使用阅读策略频率明显高于低水平学生;女生比男生更多地使用阅读策略。最后,研究结果显示阅读策略与英语阅读能力之间存在显著的正相关。研究结果对英语阅读教学有很重要的启示。首先,教师应该引导学生提高使用阅读策略的意识,学习在阅读过程怎样使用阅读策略。其次,学生应该知道自身阅读策略使用上的优势和缺点,以便能更好地提高使用阅读策略的能力。再次,加强基本词汇的学习是很关键的。对于性别差异,教师应该让学生意识到在阅读策略使用上的性别差异,并且鼓励学生有效使用阅读策略。
