论文摘要
翻译活动进行到现在已有千年历史,误译从翻译产生之初就一直伴随其前行。时至今日,人们仍然陶醉在对翻译标准喋喋不休的争论中,对翻译中存在的误译现象少有评说。事实上,翻译中的误译现象比较严重,古今中外概莫能外。文学翻译更是众矢之的。长久以来,一些人曾对误译进行过浅尝辄止的研究,但对于误译的定义、误译原因等内容未能涉及。能够提出行之有效的避免误译产生的措施和方法更是鲜见。本文作者仔细分析了前人总结的几个误译定义,在忠实原则的基础上尝试性地提出了误译的定义。文中引入了英国翻译理论家纽马克的翻译批评框架体系,创新地将批评家们评判翻译质量优劣的翻译批评理论用于指导译者规范翻译流程并进行自我评判,努力规避误译出现。论文所呈现的实例均为本文作者研读《中国人的精神》两个汉语译本过程中所发现的误译。作者以此为契机,根据翻译批评的基本原则,对文本中的误译现象进行了仔细分析和分类归纳,并运用纽马克的翻译批评提出的解决方案,让译者自己站在评论者的角度对译文进行评析,不断提高翻译水平。作者通过上面的讨论提出了译者素养问题并尝试性地提出,译者应该充当四种角色并提出译者应具备的四种素养。作者通过上述讨论,最终分析到只有通过译者在翻译作品过程努力提高自身修养并站在批评家角度进行自我批评,才能促成译文质的提升。作者希望本文能够起到抛砖引玉的作用,引起更多学者、专家、译者的讨论,为我国文学翻译水平的提升和误译专题研究的深入开展贡献一点力量。
