语篇的衔接与连贯在大学英语写作教学中的应用

语篇不是互不相关的句子之间的简单堆砌。语篇之所以成为语篇,即具有篇章性,是因为语篇中各个句子之间有某种联系,这就是语篇的衔接。衔接是一个语义概念,是语义上的一种联系,如果篇章的某一部分对另一部分的理解起着关键作用,这两部分之间就存在衔接关系。而连贯指的是篇章中语义的关联,是“意义”连贯,这是构成语篇的最重要条件,是篇章的无形网络。不管语篇在结构上如何完整,只要构成语篇的句子意义分离,就不可能连句成篇,充其量只不过是一堆杂乱无章的句子。可见,要使语篇连贯,应在语篇的意义连接上做文章。只有这样,才能贯通思想的脉络,在意义上形成一个整体。可见,衔接和连贯是语篇分析中的重要概念。他们越来越受到国内外学者的重视。英语写作是英语教学的重要环节之一,也是大学生应该掌握的一种技能。在英语教学中怎样才能使一篇文章逻辑清晰,自然流畅。传统的写作教学把重点放在纠正语法,单词拼写以及文章类型L,这不能使文章达到条理清晰的目的。正确运用英语衔接和连贯方法才是问题的关键。本文可以分成以下几部分:在引言部分简要的介绍了本文的研究背景和研究意义。在第一章中综述了前人对语篇的界定,衔接与连贯的定义和发展以及总结了衔接与连贯在英语写作中的应用的一些研究。第二章系统的介绍了此项研究的理论基础,即哈里德和哈桑的衔接理论以及衔接的五种手段,同时说明了衔接与连贯的关系。这些都为接下来的实证研究打下坚实的理论基础。作者从第三章和第四章开始介绍了本研究的设计和实验全过程。其中所有数据分析都是通过SPSS软件进行的,保证了其结果的准确性。实验结果正好验证了作者在实验前所做出的假设,即学生通过系统的衔接与连贯知识的学习和训练,在写作过程中有意识的使用了衔接手段从而达到了文章连贯的目的。更重要的是衔接与连贯在写作教学中的使用更加能够促进学生写作成绩的提高。第五章阐述了语篇的衔接与连贯理论对教学的启示。最后结论总结了此项研究的主要成果,并提出了研究的局限性和进一步的研究设想。本研究以哈里德和哈桑的衔接理论为理论依据,通过实验验证了在大学英语写作教学中传授衔接与连贯的相关知识和技巧对提高学生的写作能力和作文质量有非常显著的效果。教师应通过大学英语教学各环节,引导学生理解篇章的类型、内容和模式,处理好语篇的连贯与衔接,注重基础知识的掌握和运用等等,使学生在写作过程中能采取有效的篇章策略,从而提高学生英语写作的能力。
