听力构件理论在大学英语考试交际听力理解测试中的应用研究

论文摘要

外语测试,不仅是外语教学过程中不可缺少的重要环节和行之有效的教学手段,而且在当今社会生活中也发挥着极其重要的作用。本文旨在研究英语语言测试中的听力理解测试。在听、说、读、写四大语言技能中,听居首位。据统计,在人们日常生活交际活动中,听所占的比例在42%和54%之间,是最常见的交际活动。除此之外,它作为一种输入型技能,在学生的语言习得中也占有十分重要的地位。因此,听的技能成了衡量一个人综合语言能力的重要指标。随着我国对外开放力度的加大,提高学生的听力已不仅是外语教学的一个重要目标,而且也成为整个社会的需求,所以听力理解测试一直是国际和国内大规模语言测试中不可或缺的部分。同样地,听力理解在大学英语四、六级考试试卷上的分值举足轻重。听力测试既是考核听力技能、评价听力教学的一种必要手段,同时又能够对口头交际能力的培养产生积极的反拨效应。因此,认识听力测试的重要性,对其进行必要的研究是大有裨益的。本文把听力构件理论应用到英语测试的实际操作上,对大学英语考试中的听力理解部分作了题型和内容上的修改,旨在加强和提高这个全国性考试的效度和信度,以达到预期效果。本文由五部分组成。第一章介绍了听力测试的重要性及现状;第二章论述了听力理解的概念与其独有特点。听力是一种接受性(亦称领会性)技能,但听力理解却是一个非常积极、主动的加工过程。在这个过程中,听者往往要充分利用所掌握的语言和非语言知识,包括各种背景知识,对外界输入的语音材料进行加工、处理,达到理解说话者的意图。听力与阅读虽有相似之处但存在差异。听力所接受的是口语,而阅读所处理的是书面语。因此,本文对口语的特点进行了描述。另外,本章还指出了母语听力理解与外语听力理解的差异,以便对外语听力测试有更好的了解。第三章首先介绍了听力构件的定义及其理论依据。语言的听力理解是一个复杂过程,要对这个过程进行准确测试,必须弄清楚想要测试的是什么。在听力测试研究中,通常把想要测试的东西称为听力构件(listening construct,也有测试学家称construct 为“结构”、“构想”等)。因为“构
