论文摘要
女性主义翻译是翻译研究的“文化转向”和女性主义运动两者自然结合的产物。这一新生事物对传统翻译理论一贯秉持的译者隐形及译文要绝对忠实于原文这两个概念进行了大胆挑战,要求译者/译文持有与作者/原文平等的地位,并着重对译者主体性进行强调。女性主义译者通过操控并干涉原文,使其主体性得以充分体现,其目的即在于推翻带有明显父权标示的语言对女性的压迫,进而构建女性主体性。在翻译实践中,女性主义译者倾向选择女性作家的作品进行翻译,并采用激进的翻译策略使得译者的声音、身份在译文中得以显现。然而,一些批评家指出,女性主义译者对译者主体性的过分强调可能导致对原文的错误理解,同时使人产生错误的认知,即男性译者不能够翻译女性作家的作品。本文旨在从女性主义角度探究译者主体性,同时对《紫色》的五个中文译本进行对比研究。在此理论分析及实践分析的基础上,笔者尝试证实本文提出的以下假设:对同一部女性作品的翻译,男女译者将在译文中体现不同程度的性别意识;翻译同一部女性作品,不同性别的译者翻译效果也会不同;对同一部女性作品的翻译,女性译者,且是学术背景也与女性主义有关的女性译者,比起男性译者来说,能够更好的理解原文并将其体现在译文中;但同时,男性译者也能够翻译女性作家的作品,这一点不可否认;最后,性别并非决定翻译效果的唯一因素。
