评价理论视角下的奥巴马就职演说词分析

本文运用系统功能语言学家马丁(J. R. Martin)在20世纪90年代提出的评价理论(Appraisal Theory or Appraisal System)为理论框架,通过运用标注分析软件—UAMCorpusTool,以定量分析和定性分析互为补充,来分析奥巴马就职演讲语篇,对语篇中所包含的评价资源以及奥巴马如何构建语篇角色和协调与受众的人际关系以获取受众的支持并促发其行动做了系统的研究探讨。最后总结出奥巴马的就职演讲特点。在研究中发现,就职演讲语篇中奥巴马使用了大量的评价资源,其中态度资源占了大部分,并且显性评价多于隐性评价。积极评价多用来评价美国的前辈和美国人民,而在评价布什政府和美国现阶段的情况时多使用负面评价资源。奥巴马所使用的一个最有利的说服武器是语篇中的态度资源,借助这些态度资源奥巴马的就职演讲成功地实现了打动听众,获得听众支持的目的。
